Thirteen years ago Tony Blair was asked what his principal policy was for ‘New’ Labour.  ”Education, education, education” came the reply, as glib and rehearsed as ever.

Today the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) has announced that the United Kingdom has plummeted from fourth to 15th in the world league table of the best university-educated nations in the world.

All the billions of pounds; all the conversion of every bogstandard polytechnic and college into a ‘university’; all the hard-left agendas of equal opportunity for all and greater opportunity for the poor; all the constant fiddling with the curriculum in schools; all the trendy ideas about spelling and reading in primaries; and all the measurements and box-ticking that misleading zealots like Ed Balls could throw at the teaching profession has amounted to what ? – Fifteenth place after Iceland and Poland as an educated country.

What better evidence of the wrecking agenda of Messrs Blair, Brown and Balls could we ask for ?  One day one of these criminal idiots is going to have a Damascene conversion or ‘seeing of the light’ and admit that their agenda all along has been to break Britain into a third-world country dominated by a hard-left, tyrannical authoritarian regime, aided by union morons like Bob Crowe of the RMT union whose entire vocabulary consists of the word ‘strike.’

Smiley Blair wafts around the TV studios this week promoting his shameless and delusional re-write of history.  Thumb through the pages if you must and try and find where he admits that he presided over the greatest collapse in the country’s finances in history by being afraid to rein in the mad Chancellor Brown as he borrowed endlessly and threw money away year after year.  Of course he doesn’t accept responsibility for that or for the illegal invasion of Iraq, hosted by the venal Dick Cheney, Vice-President behind the throne of the idiot Emperor George W Bush.  Cheney sits somewhere to the far right of Hitler and Attila the Hun in the panorama of world politics with Blair in his lap.

The privately-educated, middle-class Ed Balls, having spent years as the insidious voice in the ear of the crazed Gordon Brown, now has the bare-faced nerve to stand as leader of what’s left of the Labour party.  He presided over the destruction of education in this country, now he wants to lead what was once a significant political party.  He should be forced to teach in an infants’ school for ten years first.

At least we now know what the principal policy of ‘New’ Labour was – to cling to power for 13 years while the two leading personalities sought to destroy each other in preference to making good policy and governing the country. ethically, honestly and with ambition to keep it among the leading nations of the world.
